What is Frenuloplasty?
Frenuloplasty is the surgical alteration of the frenulum when its presence restricts range of motion between skin and the glans. It involves removal & correction of frenulum including removal of excessive skin in an effort to create a more pleasing aesthetic result while solving the functional problem at the same time.
A frenuloplasty is a procedure that widens the penile frenulum usually to alleviate restriction. A local anaesthetic or sedation is usually given for this procedure, but other forms of anaesthesia are available if indicated. Its main aim is to lengthen the frenulum. Usually we divide frenulum across and restitch it in lengthwise fashion. Dissolvable stitches used which disappear in 2-3 weeks. Wrap penis in loose bandage.
